TWIN-CS Summer Academy

The Two-way Immersion Network for Catholic Schools Summer Academy is a five-day conference that offers informative presentations and dynamic planning workshops to support educators who serve culturally and linguistically diverse students through bilingual education. The Academy offers professional development training for dual language educators in the following areas:

  • Curriculum & Instruction
  • Program Design
  • Systems Thinking
  • Family and Community Partnerships
  • Language and Literacy Assessment

The Summer Academy is the capstone event of TWIN-CS, drawing together principal and teacher leadership teams from 17 network schools in 11 states, their esteemed mentors who advise their program’s evolution at the local level, professional development experts who construct and guide the learning architecture for the network, and nationally recognized university scholars in the field of bilingual education and systemic whole school change. For five days, this network of dedicated stakeholders engage in rigorous learning and professional exchange to refine their two-way immersion programs in order to give their students the best and most effective learning experiences at school.
