St. Leo the Great Catholic School in San Antonio and Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Academy in Flushing, Queens brought some of their students together to have a conversation about their likes, dislikes, and school activities. The children watched videos about their peers' classrooms and neighborhoods before they met online through the Zoom platform, and came ready with questions. They wanted to know what games their new friends played, what foods they liked to eat, and what their lives are like. The students learned about tamales and tacos, spring rolls and moon cakes, and that each school is holding musical performances for their parents this week. They were polite, friendly, and eager, so the conversation was a pleasure, and sure to be the first of many such meetings. They are scheduled to meet again next month.
