What does a school's New Year resolution look like? Considering that January 1st falls roughly in the middle of an academic year, just finishing the year 'strong,' is resolution enough: the children have improved attendance rates, more parents participate in the Spring Carnival, and the children do as well if not better on the mandated standardized assessments as they did the year before, are just some examples. An individual teacher may strive to keep up with her grading, give more praise to that difficult student, or find new ways to reach struggling students. These resolutions are probably familiar and understandable. But what if you are a TWIN school?
What does a TWIN school strive to do for the rest of the 2013-2014 school year? Taking on a new way of teaching, adding a second language to instruction, and enrolling new families were challenges they have met and overcome impressively. Now that these schools have begun to master TWI model, what new challenges do they want to meet?
